AppsEvents Google for School Leaders strand featuring 'Future Ready Schools'
A Walk in the Clouds for Leadership…How Google Apps and the Future Ready Schools Movement can Transform Your Schools.
This three-session strand will be led by Rowland Baker, who’s unique skills and expertise has allowed him to present at hundreds of Educational Conferences across the United States as well as over 20 countries around the world. Besides presenting to educators world-wide, he has been requested to keynote internationally with businesses as well Congressional Staff in the United States. In June of 2015, he was invited to the White House to present his work with Education.
Session 1 will be focused on how Google Apps For Education can assist the collaboration, creativity and workflow at any school. Participants will take a deeper dive into what research tells us is needed to help staff in dealing with “Change” in our schools. Some of the latest studies, surveys, reports and trends in “Digital Learning” will also be shared that will help with the move to digital learning in our schools.
We will discuss some of the reasons why the chrome browser with its extensions and apps can assist us in education and work flow. We will look at how a new principal at one large school is using GAFE to make their communication better and work flow more realistic .
Session 1 will end with the sharing many valuable web resources, blogs and collection of tools and templates that that can help all of us in education with our busy jobs and learning in a digital world.
Sessions 2 and 3 will be dedicated to “Future Ready Schools”. Because of the relationship of AppsEvents staff and the United States Dept. of Education, permission has been granted to share the “Future Ready Schools” tools, roadmap and knowledge with leadership attendees at the San Bernardino Summit. What started with Obama Administration, the “Future Ready Schools” movement now includes over 2,000 districts and 16 million students. We will look at the dashboard and the powerful tools that have been developed to assist leadership in 7 areas:
- Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
- Use of Time
- Technology, Networks, and Hardware
- Data and Privacy
- Community Partnerships
- Professional Learning
- Budget and Resources
We will end with looking at what next steps are needed to begin the pathway towards a Future Ready School.
